The Nehemiah Project

NEHEMIAH 2:18

. . . AND THEY SAID, “LET US RISE UP AND BUILD.” SO THEY STRENGTHENED THEIR HANDS FOR THE GOOD WORK.

The Nehemiah Project takes us through the story of God’s people rebuilding their temple, homes, and city, which was all about God rebuilding them as people in their worship, families, and community. A call to action happens right before the vision for rebuilding the entire wall around the city of Jerusalem takes place. Nehemiah casts vision by saying, “You see the trouble we are in, how Jerusalem lies in ruins with its gates burned. Come, let us build the wall of Jerusalem” The people respond by saying, “Let us rise up and build.” (Nehemiah 2:17-18)

We join in this story as we are rebuilding our community.

Our journey started as a young church buying property in Cerritos and remodeling the church, we now worship in. Then, as the world has experienced, COVID hit before we completed all we wanted to do. We have set out to do a full renewal of the parking lot, complete with new asphalt, concrete, lighting, trees, flowers, and all the structural things to keep it beautiful and green for many generations to enjoy. We want to make our first impression to the community be one of care and pride in our facilities.

“Let us rise up and build!” This is our call to complete our renewal and beautification project on the property that God has blessed us with.

Will you rise up and build with us?

Our Story…Our Needs

STRUCTURE:

Beneath what is visible to the eye, is the support system. We are installing new electrical conduit for lighting and power, as well as irrigation lines which will be hooked up to a city donated, reclaimed water system, making us efficient and economic.

FOUNDATION:

The majority of our project will be 25,292 sq. ft of hardscape. The asphalt and concrete will be replaced, providing not only a new foundation, but a safe platform for our families. We are improving accessibility by adding an ADA compliant, curb-cut ramp and truncated domes for easier access for those with disabilities.

BEAUTY:

Alive with all new greenery, flowers, and trees, our new landscape will marry together life and sustainability by being both attractive to the eye and conservation conscious.

IMPRESSION:

At Generations Family Church, we desire to make our first impression as welcoming and warm as the impression you get when you attend. Safe, warm, friendly, and inviting to our community, is what each person will see driving up.

COMMUNITY:

Upon completion, we will share our upper three parking areas with our neighbors during business hours, and they will open up their large parking lots to us on evenings and weekends, truly building community with our neighbors.
