GRACE & JUDGEMENT
Revelation focus on grace and salvation as much as destruction and judgement. The gospel requires a full view of both. Without judgement what are we saved from?

THE SCROLL AND SEALS OF REVELATION
The scroll and seals represent redemptive history on earth (the time between Christ’s 1st and 2nd coming), paralleling Jesus's teaching in Matthew 24:3-14.
Revelation 4-5: Worship the Lamb who is Worthy
WORSHIP THE LAMB WHO IS WORTHY
The seven churches are being called to overcome and conquer, and we get a glimpse into Heaven where The Lamb is proclaimed worthy of all worship.
Revelation 3:14-22 “Be Zealous”
"BE ZEALOUS"
Jesus speaks to the church in Laodicea, calling them to be completely in for the gospel. Being zealous for Christ is the only acceptable way to live for Jesus.
Revelation 3:1-13 “I Know Your Works”
“I KNOW YOUR WORKS”
Salvation is a free gift to us from God. However, the required response is to join Jesus in the mission (work) prescribed to us in Scripture. Works reveal belief.
Revelations 2:12-29 “Syncretism”
SYNCRETISM
A blending of theological, philosophical, or cultural, schools of thought that ultimately changes what we have. Jesus plus anything else is not biblical Christianity.

Jesus Speaks to the Churches
Jesus reveals himself uniquely to each local church and speaks to them according to their particular needs. Jesus is who we need, when we need him.
Revelation 1:9-20 – Revealing Christ to the Church
Jesus appears among the churches calling them to endure the tribulation before them so that the light of the Kingdom of Christ can shine out to others.
Revelation 1:1-8 – A Letter to Seven Churches
Jesus Speaks to Churches
Jesus reveals both himself and his message to bless churches so they will hear and obey [vs. 3]. Obedience implies the understanding and ability to live it out.
