Being Teachable: Proverbs 13

BEING TEACHABLE
A disciple’s relationship to wisdom begins in a posture of humility. Jesus calls every one of us to be pliable and teachable.

TODAY’S MAIN IDEA:
The key to a life marked by wisdom is the heart. A life deeply in love with God and his word will result in a life of wisdom and faith.

Proverbs 31 : A Godly Woman

TODAY’S MAIN IDEA:
A godly woman is a follower of Jesus, a lover of her husband, and a faithful mother to her children. Her beauty, value, and image, are found in Christ alone.

BEING A GODLY MAN:
God has called men to be Christlike, family-oriented, servant-leaders of their homes, churches, and neighborhoods. the gospel and be responsible for what our speech causes in others. this life.

MAIN IDEA
We are to steward our speech as a God-given instrument that reflects the gospel, and be responsible for what our speech causes in others. this life.

WISDOM IN BEHAVIORS
Godly wisdom guides our behaviors within the boundaries that God has given us, and teaches us to live for God over momentary pleasures of this life.

MAIN IDEA
We are called to steward our finances, knowing that they are given to us by God to be used for his Kingdom purposes.

GODLINESS OR FINANCES?
Godliness and wealth are not mutually exclusive, but are often incompatible due to our tendency to worship money (things). A heart devoted to God is the key to godliness in finances.

As sons and daughters of God we are given wisdom, and God’s desire for us is that we would use wisdom by including God in our planning.

God’s Word provides wisdom for practical living or “practical theology”, that is from God, for all people, that all might have abundant life in Christ.
