Sermon Book: Ezekiel

Ezekiel 5 “Ezekiel’s 4th Sign Act”

A MESSAGE TO THE REMNANT
God warns his people against complacency and idolatry, calling them to live differently than the world around them or lose his unique blessing upon them.

Ezekiel 3b-4 “Ezekiel’s First Sign Acts”

GOD JUDGES SIN
God commands Ezekiel to perform “sign acts” about judgment on Jerusalem for their sin. Ezekiel’s audience is already in exile but needs to learn the lesson of God’s penalty for sin (just as do we in the church today).

Ezekiel 2-3a “Ezekiel the Watchman”

GOD CALLS EZEKIEL
Ezekiel is to listen to God and share what God tells him with the exiles. How others respond is not up to Ezekiel, he can only control his own obedience.

Ezekiel 1 – “The Vision of God’s Throne”

THE GLORY OF GOD REVEALED
God reveals himself to Ezekiel the Prophet in Babylon during the exile period, reminding us that as exiles today we too must learn these lessons as well.

Stand Sunday

The purpose of Stand Sunday is for us to be reminded that God is vested, deeply and personally, in the plight of children in foster care. He calls His people to share this passion and bring to each child the love of Jesus Christ in both word and deed. This month, the Church is reminded of this truth and invited to act upon it.
